If you need to give additional people access to your files, let us know, and we will quickly add them to your account as authorized users, with their own passwords.
Confidentiality:
We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. These include internal reviews of our data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, as well as physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store business and personal data.
We restrict access to business and personal information to Richmond Aquarium employees, contractors and agents who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our services. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations.
Security:
Richmond Aquarium utilizes the Google hosting infrastructure for protection against hackers, viruses, and other threats. Google, an established provider of web-based services has gone to great lengths to protect against threats. Google runs its data centers using custom hardware running a custom OS and file system. Each of these systems has been optimized for security and performance. The Google Security Team works with external parties to constantly test and enhance security infrastructure to ensure it is impervious to external attackers. And because Google controls the entire stack running our systems, they are able to quickly respond to any threats or weaknesses that may emerge.
Richmond Aquarium's systems are maintained in a number of geographically distributed data centers. These computing clusters are designed with resiliency and redundancy in mind, eliminating single points of failure and minimizing the impact of common equipment failures and environmental risks.
Richmond Aquarium's systems adhere to the US Safe Harbor Privacy Principles of Notice, Choice, Onward Transfer, Security, Data Integrity, Access and Enforcement, and is registered with the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Safe Harbor Program.
